Presentation to Elder Care Professionals

Maria will speak to the Seabury Resources for Aging – Geriatric Care Management team.

Many older adults want to remain in place as they age.   Sometimes the household maintenance, in combination with health related issues can create a clutter or hoarding issue in the home.  Additionally, some of these people do have a mental health issue that needs to be addressed if they are to remain safely in place.  We’ll look at the interventions and resources to assist that social workers can use to help older adults successfully and safely live in the home of their choice.  We’ll also look at the proposed changes to the DSM and how this will effect clients with a hoarding concern.
